Massimo Banzi was proud to announce at the New York World Maker Faire 2015 recently that Arduino.cc is opening an office in New York City. This is an important development for Arduino and will allow it to tap into the vibrant maker communities active in the New York City area.

There was also an announcement of the cloud.arduino.cc MQTT service, the Arduino-to-IoT protocol MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) which allows Arduino devices to talk to and be controlled via the Internet. More information can be found by signing up at cloud.arduino.cc.

Massimo also gave an update on the much anticipated web-based Arduino Create IDE. In the near future this will allow you to write code and upload sketches to any Arduino board directly from your browser with the Arduino Web Editor (IDE), without the need to install anything. Sketchbooks will be stored in the Arduino Cloud, accessible from any device. The service is in a limited beta right now, but will expand more in October and is due for release early next year.
