Electronics in cars and other vehicles is used for safety, security and comfort. The share of development effort and costs dedicated to electronics in cars is constantly increasing. A big issue for the next years are (partly) self-driving vehicles, meaning we will have even more sensors and processor power in cars. Bus-systems like Flexray, LIN and CAN, nowadays even Ethernet, are used to connect the different processors and microcontrollers. Another big issue is software reliability, the industry is using common specs and frameworks like AUTOSAR for it.
