Distrelec, leading European distributor of electronics, automation and measurement technology, has added the new Coral Development Board by Google to its web shop.

The Coral Development Board is a single-board computer with a removable system-on-module (SOM) that contains eMMC SOC, wireless radios and Google’s Edge TPU. Suitable for engineers, designers and industrial technicians, the board can be used to prototype IoT devices, as a single-board computer and even serves as an evaluation kit for the SOM.

The baseboard is equipped with all the peripheral connections required to prototype projects, inclusive of USB 2.0/3.0 ports, DSI display interface, CSI2 camera interface, Ethernet port, speaker terminals and a 40-pin GPIO header.   With the integrated TensorFlow Lite inferencing, models can be compiled to run on the Coral Development Board, removing the need for prototypes to be built from the ground up.  By allowing simple integration with other technologies, prototypes can then be easily scaled to production using just the 40mmx48mm SOM board combined with custom PCB hardware using board-to-board connectors.

Not only is the Coral Development Board by Google easily integrated with a range of supporting networks and systems to expand the products application capabilities, but it also has minimal impact on the environment and low power consumption.

Steve Herd, Head of Customer Proposition and Product Management, has commented on the new addition to Distrelec’s product assortment stating, “The future of IoT and innovation for embedded systems depends on products such as the latest technology by Google. With such a wide range of applications, suitable for Distrelec’s vast network of industry professionals and customers, the technological solutions that this product can enable are endless.”

Google’s Coral Development Board is available from the Distrelec webshop.
