For more than 50 years now the electronica exhibition held in Munich has been the predominant global trade fair for the electronics industry. The latest components, systems and applications that make tomorrows systems possible are showcased at the world’s leading trade fair in Munich. This year there is special emphasis on the themes of automotive technology, embedded systems, SSL/LED, wearables and healthcare along with cyber security and of course the Internet-of-Things.

In addition to the 13 halls stuffed full of the latest innovations visitors can attend four conferences and five theme-oriented forums. The first of these highlights begins on the day before the official opening of the trade fair. A conference covering developments in automotive technology will take place on Monday November 7th. The speakers include representatives from top companies such as Daimler, Infineon and Bosch. A conference on Embedded Platforms is also planned for November 9th and 10th where experts will present an overview of efficient and future-proofed embedded platform design and their intelligent networking. Visitors can take their pick of 130 presentations under the five themed forums.

With its platform ‘Talent meets Industry’ electronica provides a link between talented electronics designers and individuals with established electronics companies.  This is where students, specialists and small start-ups can meet up and forge links with representatives from large established companies, angel investors and entrepreneurs. In addition the new start-up platform Fast Forward at electronica gives an opportunity for budding start-ups to pitch their ideas live to a worldwide audience. There will be experts on hand at the forum to give advice and tips on how best to promote and market new products. Our panel of experts will also be making the decision on the last day of the exhibition to present the electronica Fast Forward Award to the idea or project they judge to show the greatest level of innovation and promise.
