Adafruit has announced the addition of the Feather 32u4 Adalogger to its Feather family of diminutive development and prototyping boards. The board uses 3.3V logic and is powered by the ATMega32U4 Arduino compatible microcontroller clocked at 8 MHz. This chip has 32KB of flash and 2KB of RAM with an integrated USB controller so not only does it have a USB-to-Serial program & debug capability built-in, there is no need for an FTDI-like serial converter chip.

It can also act like a mouse, keyboard, USB MIDI device, etc. A two-pin connector allows optional stand-alone operation from a single Lipoly cell which can be charged from the USB port via the built-in battery manager. The board can also run directly from USB power. Also included is a handy microSD slot.
