Voigt tapered pipe a special low-frequency loudspeaker

Principally, there are several kinds of loudspeaker enclosure: closed box, vented box (sometimes ca lied bass reflex), bandpass, transmission line, horn. and open pipe. For all sorts of reason, not the least of which is the difficulty of construction, the open pipe enclosure is not all that popular. This is a pity because the Voigt Tapered Pipe (VTP), which combines the properties of the horn and transmission line, deserves more attention from amateur constructors. This article takes a close look at the properties of this musical pipe.
