Running out of steam on your electrically-assisted bike could now be a thing of the past; The Company Delfast, based in the Ukraine has developed a monster e-bike giving a range of 236 miles from a single charge.

Most models of electric bikes offer a promised range of somewhere between 30 to 40 miles, but if you’ve owned one you will know that most times you’ll be lucky to get anywhere near this figure. They give useful assistance for the short-distance daily commute but you wouldn’t really consider them useful for touring great distances. All that could change… enter the Delfast:

Key Features:

The company are planning to introduce three versions, the Prime model comes with a 64 Ah battery, and 1 kW motor giving an (unrestricted) speed up to 34 mph and a range of 236 miles. The Top model has a 5 kW motor and can reach 50 mph. A 50 Ah battery gives the Top model a range of 174 miles. The lower-spec Lite version uses a 750 W motor and a 28 Ah battery gives a range of 112 miles with a maximum speed of 26 mph.

The production of these bikes will be funded by a Kickstarter campaign which is due to end at the start of November and they have already managed to raise over three times their target fund for production. There are a few early bird discounted offers still available but the production versions will retail between $ 2449 and $ 3829 depending on the spec, delivery is anticipated in May2018.
