Innovators from every corner of the world may apply to this contest. All participants must register by submitting a description of their company and products at https://www.elektormagazine.com/labs/contest/e-ffwd-2020.
Please make sure that the information you submit is as comprehensive as possible and allows the judging panel to get a clear understanding of your start-up, technology, product, and/or services. All proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by the judging panel.
All existing Start-Up companies are eligible, providing the company was founded within the last 6 years. Note that only complete submissions will be judged. Incomplete or unreadable entries will not be considered. One start-up can only submit one application. The application must be made online before the deadline. The electronica Fast Forward event will take place in English. Please submit your information, company details, etc. in English to be considered by the jury. If you are selected as a finalist and participate in the electronica Fast Forward finals in Munich, note that you must present your company and technology in English. The closing date for participation is July 1, 2020. Anyone in the field of electronics can submit an application and apply free of charge.
Note: If your start-up gets selected to be one of the finalists, there will be a fee of €1,905 (excl. VAT) which has to be paid in order to attend the finals. Additional details are listed in the section Attendance at electronica 2020.
Publishing and Promotion
By submitting the application form, the applicant agrees that the information about the company, the short and long description of the start-up, technology, product, and/or services, as well as any photos submitted to Elektor and the electronica Trade Fair in relation to the applications, documentation and reporting of the “electronica Fast Forward, the Start-up Platform powered by Elektor” may be used publicly by Elektor in print and on the internet.
The copyright will remain the property of the start-up. Furthermore, the applicant agrees to inform Elektor of any important news regarding the start-up or its technology for 24 months following the competition so Elektor can update its partners/readers.
In the event that any video and/or sound recordings are carried out during the awards ceremony, the candidate filing out this application agrees that such recordings may be used for the purposes of reporting and/or public relations for the “electronica Fast Forward, the Start-up Platform powered by Elektor” and for promotional purposes for Elektor and the electronica Trade Fair without compensation, and these recordings may be published and made publicly available on the internet.
Attendance at electronica 2020
All quoted prices in the Specific Terms of Participation from Messe München are for all Fast Forward participants not relevant because they participate as Elektor Co-exhibitor.
All finalists take part with a booth package price of €1,905 (excl. VAT).
The booth package includes the following:
- Communication fee
- Own booth (5m² table + bar chairs) as part of the electronica fast forward area
- Presentation slot in the electronica fast forward forum
- Media coverage before, during and after the event
- two-page article in the upcoming Start-Up Guide 2021
The booth package price must be paid in full amount or as two separate rates and must be paid before the event takes place.
In the event of a successful nomination for an appearance at electronica 2020, you must agree to be personally present. Unfortunately, expenses cannot be reimbursed.
All other expenses (travel, catering, hotel, etc.) are on the account of the participant. The applicant agrees to work with Elektor and the electronica Trade Fair free of any third-party rights.
The “marketing packages” offered to winners by Elektor includes ads, news coverage, and promotion through Elektor’s various print and digital channels: print magazine ads, online banners, email promotions, social media, news coverage, and advertorials. All prices are listed in Elektor’s 2020 Media Kit.

Within the scope of the services we collect, store, transfer or otherwise process personal data. Elektor employees are obliged to respect the confidentiality of your data.
Elektor collects and stores your data within the framework of your participation in electronica Fast Forward - the start-up platform powered by Elektor. To enable assessment of your submission, Elektor will share your data (company name, first name, surname and email address) with electronica Trade Fair and the members of the jury for electronica Fast Forward - the start-up platform powered by Elektor. Your email address can also be used to provide you with information about the products and services of Elektor, electronica Trade Fair and the sponsors (jury members) of the event.
If you do not wish to receive information or offers from Elektor by email or by post, please inform us accordingly by email addressed to email@example.com.
