Science Journal Moving from Google to Arduino

Google's Science Journal is moving to Arduino this fall. "The Google versions of the app will officially cease support and updates on December 11th, 2020, with Arduino continuing all support and app development moving forward, including a brand new Arduino integration for iOS," Arduino recently announced. With the free Science Journal app, you can manage science experiments directly from your phone. You can acquire, document, record, and graph data on the go. 

Global AI Software Market on Growth Track

Artificial intelligence (AI) software market has huge potential, particularly in the areas of speech recognition, network/IT operations monitoring, supply chain management, and video surveillance. Research firm Omdia reports that, despite the COVID-19 crisis, the global AI software market could hit almost $100 billion in 2025. "Many enterprises have discovered that AI software can help cut costs and generate new revenue streams," the firm explains. "Yet, AI software remains a relatively small portion of overall software sales, with varying acceptance across industries."

Silicon Wafer Shipments Up in Q2

Global silicon wafer shipments (including both polished and non-polished silicon wafers) are up 6% in Q2 2020 compared to Q2 2019, according to SEMI association. Shipments in Q2 are also up 8% compared to the previous quarter.  

COVID-19 Drives Tablet Sales

Tablet sales jumped 17% in Q2 2020 compared to Q1 2019 due to lockdowns and work-from-home initiatives. According to Strategy Analytics, Apple's market share was 29%, Samsung's was 13.4%, and Amazon's was 5.5.%. In Q2 2020, Android had 54.5% of global tablet market share, while iOS had 33%, Windows had 12%, and Chrome had 0.4%.
