Unifying Access Control Systems by Breaking Down Silos
In our interview with Alfredo Neumann from Elatec, we discussed how they simplify the complex world of access control. Smart offices and factories rely on such systems for physical access, PC single sign-on, and fleet management. Elatec’s hardware, coupled with its software development kit and service, helps organizations unify siloed systems using RFID, NFC, and BLE in cards, key fobs and smartphones.
You may not have seen them, but Elatec multi-technology readers are everywhere. Enabling future-proof access control systems, they are often found in doors, gates and lifts. However, they also form part of smart office security systems, supporting secure printing and single sign-on. Then, there are the employee lockers, electric vehicle charging systems, and machine authentication. With so many systems to manage, Elatec helps to break down siloed access control, supporting RFID, NFC (near-field communication), and even BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). Of course, smartphones are now supported, too, allowing credentials to be carried around on these ubiquitous devices.
Our interview with Alfredo Neumann explored how Elatec enables user authentication and identification solutions for secure, flexible, and future-proof access management by supporting more than 60 transponder technologies and 99 physical and mobile credentials.
