Elektor Engineering Insights Starts with a Bang in 2023!

Having barely packed up the Christmas tree decorations, it is straight into the world of tech with CES in Las Vegas. Analog Devices was there, showing off how their technology delivers an immersive home theater experience. With the chaos of the show behind them, Tony Zarola joined Stuart Cording, The Electronics Reporter, on Elektor Engineering Insights (EEI) to explain how their latest time-of-flight (ToF) cameras work and how they have been integrated into ready-to-use modules.

Matt Prewett also joined them, covering the details of the digital signal processing (DSP) technology behind their home theater demonstrator. Using positioning information from the ToF camera, the sound system directs the audio towards the viewer, regardless of where on the couch they are sitting.

As always, the show went out live at 16:00 CET on our new Elektor TV - Industry channel, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Stuart also had a Fortissimo-100 audio amplifier to give away, and spoke to the amp's designer, Ton Giesberts. To find out more, check out the video below.

Previously on EEI

Last time on EEI, we looked at the role of software in the automotive industry. Stuart was joined by Allan McAuslin from NXP, who discussed the S32K39, a microcontroller designed for the heart of an EV's traction inverter. He also introduced Felix Martin from iSYSTEM, which offers technology that enables software developers to look deep inside automotive MCUs, helping them solve complex issues when no other method helps.
