Join the Board Games by submitting your project to the contest!

Your goal is to turn your idea into a product that makes a difference for people? Our goal is to help you bring this product to market.
Avnet EMEA is the leading electronics components distributor in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. With its independently operating business units – a.k.a. Speedboats – Avnet EMEA supports customers throughout their product lifecycle, from design to mass manufacturing and end-of-life-management. Avnet Silica and EBV Elektronik, the two leading semiconductor “Speedboats” within Avnet EMEA, represent leading semiconductor manufacturers, our engineers help customers to turn ideas into products that make a difference in the market place.

How it works?
To support engineers and Start-up companies to drive meaningful innovation, Avnet Silica and EBV Elektronik are launching the international Board Games contest "Design for a Better World" together with electronica Fast Forward 2018: the startup platform powered by Elektor.
You want to turn your idea into a market-ready product?
Join the contest, bring on your idea and realise it with one of the below development kits that are available for you to design your project on.

Be part of the contest!
To participate please add your project concept by clicking here. You need to enter e.g. a description of your product idea, technical details, and the information on the board you plan to design it on.
Once you have added your project it will go through a first assessment to see if it meets our basic criteria to Design for a Better World. Your product should be innovative, helping to create improvements for people, making life easier, the environment cleaner and most importantly it should have the potential to target a wide audience of users.
If your concept passed this first phase, you will receive the board you based your product concept on. Now you have the chance to start building your product.
All selected projects independently if there are at the beginning of the design phase or if these reached the prototype/demo phase are eligible of having the chance to win one of the prizes in total worth more than 15,000 Euros.
All selected projects will receive a contest badge and will listed on the Elektor Labs webpage.
