Easier to transport more power.
I mean till the house and to the kitchen you use the 3 phase 230V, but the rest of the house would be fine to use 24Vdc.
All electronics internally transform that to all sorts of smaller DC voltages.

Good idea,
when you turn on a waterboiler of 2100 watt, the current will 2100 watt/12 volt = 175 ampere!!. The wire thickness will be enormous. 100mm^2 will be too thin. R=0.0175*10000m/100m^2=1.75ohm. U=I*R=1.75*175=306.25. 306.25+12=318.25 volt in the generator only 5 km away result in 12 volt in your house.
hmm not realy effective. Thats why we use 230volt.
