Sometimes it seems impossible to set the correct read-out brightness for LED displays. If the brightness is set for good daytime con- trast, at night the read-out becomes blinding. The purpose of this device is to automatically adjust the brightness of seven-segment LED displays in such a way that the visible contrast compared with ambient light is maintained over a wide range of ambient light levels.
