The enhanced U8903A audio analyzer from Agilent Technologies features new digital audio interface options that enable the instrument to handle AES3, SPDIF and DSI (digital serial interface) formats for versatile analogue and digital audio testing. The DSI format offers four sub-formats – I²S, Left Justified, Right Justified and DSP – to allow R&D engineers to check out a wide range of digital audio applications. Built for ease of use, the unit  has a 5.7-inch colour screen (capable of displaying up to four channel results simultaneously) and one-button access to four main operating modes through front panel softkeys.

The U8903A audio analyzer provides a full range of functions for audio measurement in the analogue and digital domains in a single unit, allowing engineers and technicians to quickly perform complex cross-domain measurements in areas such as IC component and module design, wireless communication and consumer audio. It combines the functionality of a distortion meter, SINAD meter, frequency counter, AC voltmeter, DC voltmeter and FFT analyzer with a low-distortion audio source.

The U8903A features a wide logic level input range of 1.2 V to 3.3 V and allows users to set the logic level to any value within that range, enabling the instrument to support and test future designs with lower logic levels in addition to the majority of current digital audio ICs. The audio resolution range is 8 to 24 bits.
