The latest generation of Rogowski coils for non-contact current sensing from Power Electronic Measurements is specifically designed for monitoring state-of the-art power systems and semiconductor devices. The new CWT Ultra-mini probes featuring higher maximum frequency and increased stability over a wider operating temperature range includes several versions suitable for measurements from as low as 1 A to a maximum full-scale current of 6,000 A. The new family also has enhanced transient response and can measure fast-changing currents up to 80 kA/µs, with a typical measurement accuracy of ±2%.

With their extended temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and an improved temperature coefficient of 50 ppm/°C, they enable accurate measurement of semiconductor devices operating at elevated temperatures. In addition, the 30 MHz frequency bandwidth allows analyzing high-order harmonics in systems operating at high switching frequencies, or accurately monitoring switching waveforms with fast edges. The loop pigtail has a cross-section of just 1.6 mm, allowing measurements in tight spaces. For instance, it can be threaded between the pins of MOSFETs or IGBTs in TO-220 or TO-247 packages.
