Semiconductor Sales Boom

While many industries are still reeling from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the semiconductor industry seems to be in the middle of a sales boom. According to new report by the Semiconductor Industry Association, global semiconductor sales skyrocketed 32.4% from February 2021 to February 2022. In the month of February 2022, sales hit $52.4 billion. Curious how things broke down by region? Sales in the Americas was up 43% year-to-year. They were up 29.3% in Europe, 21.8% in China, 21.6% in Japan, and 41.4% in Asia Pacific. This means many of the engineering consultants in our community should have a lot of work coming their way this spring and summer.

WEEF 2022

The "pioneer edition" of the World Ethical Electronics Forum (WEEF), which took place in November 2021, was a success. The event, which featured in-person and remote speakers, inspired global innovators in the electronics community with an open discussion about ethics and SDGs. WEEF 2022, slated for November, will build on the momentum from last year, and until then, we will be publishing thought-provoking ethics-related articles, interviews, and polls.
