Modified mains switch
It sometimes happens that it is necessary for the contacts of a mains switch to be isolated or for the switch to be able to handle a larger load than it was designed for. Normally, a relay is used for these situations, but this has the disadvantage of needing an auxiliary voltage for operating the relay.
