Producer of prototype printed circuit boards Beta Layout will exhibit at this year's Electronica exhibition from 13 to 16 November 2012 in Munich. During the trade fair the company’s newest innovation ‘Magic PCB’ will be unveiled. This is a technique to embed RFID chips into a printed circuit board. The chips are embedded during the initial production steps allowing for identification and traceability from the onset. The RFID chips that function within the UHF frequency bands 860 MHz to 960 MHz and hence can be used globally have a high reading accuracy with the added advantage of an invisible copy protection.

The second highlight at the Beta Layout booth is the new online IDF-to-3D tool (IDF = Intermediate Data Format). Using any printed circuit board software that outputs IDF data this tool allows the creation of a 3D data model of the assembled printed circuit board, enabling verification of dimensions and positions of components before freezing the design. The PCB manufacturer continues its unique relationship with EAGLE users by developing a specific ULP (User Language Program) to interface with the IDF-to-3D tool specifically for them. This tool is offered free of charge to the company’s loyal EAGLE user customer base.
