New Enclosure Family can have any Length

A new family of extruded aluminum cases that provide versatile and robust housing for PCBs with standard or non-standard dimensions has been introduced by electronics packaging manufacturer Schroff. Designated Minipac, the new enclosures are available in two different shapes. The trapezoidal version can accept three boards with widths of 50, 60 and 65 mm (2.0, 2.4 and 2.6 inch), while the rectangular version is designed to accommodate either four standard 160 x 100 mm (6.3 x 3.9 inch) boards or eight 160 x 60 mm (6.3 x 2.3 inch) boards.

As the cases are made from aluminum extrusions, they can be specified in any practical length and ordered in any quantity from one-off upwards. For users requiring tailored designs, covers and front panels can be supplied with custom modifications such as cutouts and screen printing. There are no minimum order quantities for this service.

Suitable for wall mounting, DIN rail mounting or use as desktop enclosures, the new cases are ideal for housing single-board computers, communication modules, and a wide variety of DIY projects, for example in test and measurement, industrial, networking or railway applications. Optimal heat dissipation is ensured by the large aluminum surface area, and the cases offer enclosure protection ratings up to IP40.
