A marten (or to be more precise: stone marten, Martes foina, also known as beach marten, house marten or white breasted marten) is actually a really beautiful animal. To humans the marten is not dangerous, but they can make a great nuisance of themselves — stench, noise, and under the hood even chew through wires and hoses.
