Good news for all sustainable handymen out there. Now you can build your own eco friendly, electric car. TREXA is planning to produce a platform, including lithium battery, that enables hobbyists and vehicle developers to design their own sustainable car. And it's a feisty little platform: all wheel drive, 0 to 100 (km/h) in under eight seconds, a maximum speed of nearly 160 km/h and a range of almost 200 kilometers. Recharging takes a few hours with a normal socket. Okay.. it's not a Porsche Spyder 918 hybrid, but then again, with a little design imagination it's anything you want it to be.
TREXA expects to start producing by the end of 2010. The platform will cost about $16.000.
