2017: a Raspberry Pi 3 socket on every NEC display

NEC clearly exploits the strong performance and networking capabilities of the Pi 3, which we can agree to being described as “no longer just a basic computer for coding but a reliable intelligent device with unlimited possibilities”.

As well as the Raspberry Pi 3 compute module, NEC will offer a customised model to meet the specific performance demands of the display industry. NEC believes integrating the Raspberry Pis with their displays will provide businesses with technology suitable for digital signage, streaming and presenting. The company is planning to launch professional-grade large format displays (P and V Series) with Raspberry Pi connectivity from January 2017, starting with 40, 48 and 55 inch versions, then adding more, up to 98 inch.
