IoT hook up without firmware or PCB mods
on
At the Embedded World trade fair this year the French company Keolabs picked up an innovation prize in the hardware category for their ‘IoTize’ solution to this problem. It is a small board which acts as a simple gateway between a controller board (using its standard debug or a serial port) and one or more wireless interfaces. The solution requires no modification to the existing board and provides access to program variables and control registers running in the firmware without the need to make any changes to existing firmware.
Keolabs were showcasing their NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy and WLAN gateway boards at Embedded World 2016. Apart from evaluation samples the boards are supplied to product manufacturers for use under licence. There is also an advanced development environment and UI templates for (Smartphone) control and extensive customer support.
