PIC programming course (1):
Large designs traditionally required complex and extensive digital circuits are now simple to realize by virtue of the smalI, powerful, PIC® microcontroller developed by Microchip Technology. The main application areas of PICs are automotive electronics, machine controls, and test and measurement equipment. Particularly logic circuits based on time or count pulses often become quite complex if ordinary logic components are used. A single PIC however can do the same at a smaller outlay, offering a staggering degree of circuit simplification. Microchip's PIC16C5x family is a class of its own in microcontroller land, and forms the subject of the present short course. Apart from programming aspects, the hardware will also receive some attention.
