iX development software from Beijer Electronics facilitates the implementation of (hu)man-machine interfaces (HMI or MMI) on programmable devices. Featuring smart engineering tools and a ribbon menu set in a familiar Windows environment, it substantially reduces project development time for navigation in everyday applications.

The latest version, iX 2.0, creates new ways to interact with machines using scroll and swipe gestures. Features such as the Action Menu, which enables a multi-level menu system with fast action execution, the Roller Panel and slider objects help to put relevant information where the user needs it while saving screen space and enabling manual-free operation. Screen aliases allow screens to be reused without creating new, duplicated screens.

The tool is ready to use out of the box, but it can also be extended with add-ins such as .NET components and it allows developers to use C# scripting to tailor its functionality, since the software is based on the Microsoft .NET framework.
