LTspice is powerful electronic circuit simulator software and it is free. Probably because it is free, not too much effort has been put into its user interface. Even though LTspice is perfectly capable of what it is designed for, it does not look pretty, and it lacks user-friendliness. But with a bit of effort it can be a valuable tool, which is why we made a video about how to get started with LTspice.

We try out LTspice on the E-e-e-ternal Blinker, published in the summer 2020 edition of Elektor Magazine, on page 65. The circuit is capable of blinking an LED for two years while powered from a 1.5 V alkaline AA battery. Only three transistors are needed to create an an oscillator cq boost converter.
