Securing Tomorrow: NXP’s Post-Quantum Cryptography Strategy
on
Join Elektor and NXP on Thursday June 25, 2026 (at 4pm CEST) for a technical webinar with Dr. Joost Renes, Security Architect and Cryptographer at NXP Semiconductors, on how post-quantum cryptography is moving from research and standardisation into real embedded products. The session will focus on what post-quantum cryptography means in practice, why long product lifetimes make this a design issue now, and how engineers can prepare systems that may need to remain secure for decades.
With long-standing involvement in PQC standardization and real-world implementation, NXP will discuss its post-quantum cryptography strategy from a security architecture perspective, including how PQC is integrated into hardware roots of trust and introduced across NXP’s portfolio. The webinar will also look at the role of NIST standardisation, regulatory pressure, migration planning, and the challenge of supporting both new designs and existing product lines.
This webinar is aimed at engineers, security architects, embedded developers, product managers, and technical decision-makers working on connected systems, automotive electronics, industrial devices, IoT products, smart infrastructure, and other applications where long-term security matters.
What we’ll discuss
- Why post-quantum cryptography matters for embedded systems
- What post-quantum cryptography means in practice

The Speakers
Dr. Joost RenesDr. Joost Renes is a Security Architect and Cryptographer and the Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) security architecture lead in the central Competence Center Crypto and Security (CCCS) at NXP Semiconductors. He has been involved with the development of PQC for 10+ years, contributing to algorithm design, creating secure embedded software and hardware, solving integration and migration challenges, developing real-world demonstrators, and bringing PQC to the NXP portfolio.
