What is your current occupation?

Carsten Nielsen: Production technician. 

How would you best describe your space? And how do you use it?

Carsten: My workspace can be described as a dedicated area equipped with essential tools. I do not have much space, but I love building and experimenting with electronics. I am working with both analog and digital design. Furthermore, I also repair many different types of electronics.
 
Where is your space located?

Carsten: My space is located in my bedroom. I have had this setup for about 19 years, using it daily.
 
When you designed and/or set up your space, what were your requirements and goals?

Carsten: My goal was to have easy access to the instruments and components I use the most. Moreover, things I rarely use are placed in cupboards and drawers.
 
Tell us about your technical interests. What sort of projects do you work on in your space? Why do you focus on such projects?

Carsten: I really like to design and build analog audio circuits, but I also design and build circuits, based on digital electronics. Sometimes I use Arduino in my design. In addition, I have built a lot of RIAA, preamps, mixers and amplifiers, as I love good sound.


What sort of equipment and tools do you have in your space?

Carsten: I have a lot of different equipment and tools, as you can see in the pictures. I have more equipment that is rarely used that is stored in drawers and cabinets. Not only that, but I also have a 3D printer.
 
What do you consider to be your most important or valued piece of equipment or tool? And why?

Carsten: My most important equipment must be my Fluke 287, my Rigol and Tektronix scope. My Rigol generator and my different power supplies. With this equipment, I can make most of the measurements I need.

Is there anything special or unique about your space?

Carsten: The instruments I use most are closest to the work area.
 
Are you planning anything new for your space? Perhaps you are going to build a new workbench or install improved lighting?

Carsten: I would like to find a solution to have more table space.
  Tell us about your favorite electronics-related project. What did you build and why? 

Carsten: I like to design and build amplifiers, preamps, audio mixers, RIAA preamps etc., as I like good sound.
 
Are you currently working on an electronics or programming project?

Carsten: No. However, I am considering building an electronic load.
 
Do you have a dream project or something you'd love to tackle?

Carsten: I would like to design and build an AC reference voltage, to calibrate measuring equipment (multimeters).
