Whether you're talking about a home cinema or a computer system, it's very often the case that the various elements of the system have to be turned on or off in a quite specific order, or at least, automatically. Constructing this sort of automation system is well within the capability of any electronics enthusiast but in this 'all-digital’ age, most of the circuits of this type to be found use a microcontroller. So we decided to offer you now an approach that's very different, as it only uses a simple, cheap, commonly-available analogue integrated circuit, which of course doesn't have to be programmed.
