To measure how well a building is sealed, we go about it a bit like an inner tube: we pressurize the building so as to then measure the escaping air flow. This infiltrometry involves fitting an adjustable fan hermetically into one of the building’s openings – for example, the entrance door – with all the other openings kept shut.
