In the last few months the data centre industry has experienced spikes in online usage, and the demand for energy and high performance in data centres rapidly increased, and so did the energy bill.

Several research studies indicate that the Data Centre industry has the same environmental (co2) impact as the aviation and shipping industry combined. It is not always the technology that consumes all of the power, up to 30-40% of the energy bills go to the cooling of the equipment.

Why is cooling important?

One of the biggest issues faced by Data Centres is their cooling. As power consumption and the demand for power is rising, the more heat is being generated by the servers, ultimately slowing them down, therefore, cooling is becoming a priority.

For example, in recent months, Netflix, the online streaming platform saw an unprecedented high demand of computing power resulting in having to reduce streaming qualities in Europe for over one month, due to capacity issues.

What is the solution?
