When creative engineers collaborate, great things tend to happen. Case in point is the March/April 2021 edition of Elektor magazine, which we worked on closely with our innovative friends at Colorado, USA-based SparkFun Electronics. As you dive in, you’ll quickly see that the magazine is packed with exciting DIY electronics projects, in-depth engineering tutorials, informative interviews, and much more. There’s something for everyone, from building a DIY quadrupedal robot to FPGA programming. Enjoy!

Elektor + SparkFun: A Match Sparked in California

The March/April 2021 issue was a few years in the making. As we explain in the magazine’s editorial, Elektor and SparkFun began talking about possible collaborations back in May 2019 at the Bay Area Maker Faire in San Mateo, California. During the meeting, we quickly found that the two companies had a great deal in common: talented in-house engineering teams, widely popular online electronics stores, a serious passion for fun DIY electronics projects, and fast-growing communities of curious engineers and makers. As time and subsequent meetings went on, we decided that collaborating with SparkFun on projects and articles for a full edition of Elektor magazine would be a great international initiative as we celebrate Elektor’s 60th anniversary. After you read this issue, we’re sure you’ll agree. In 1961, Elektor started with articles written in Dutch by Dutch engineers. Six decades later, this edition features contributions from engineers, editors, graphic artists, and translators from all over Europe and United States. We sure have come a long way.
