Elektor.TV reports from the embedded world 2017 show recently held in Nuremberg. The event turned out one big celebration of the IoT or even the I2oT. Amir Sherman, director of Engineering Solutions and Embedded technology at Arrow Europe talks on the Oxalis, Meerkat and Chameleon boards which strengthen the ‘96Boards’ already enjoying wide support from the open source community. Following their Dragon board successfully introduced two years ago, in collaboration with Qualcomm and Linaro, all three products are focusing on specific type of IoT open source applications. They have specific form factors, processors and FPGA, answer specific needs such as consumer, enterprise and IoT, and communicate through general-purpose WiFi/Bluetooth communication (Meerkat) or specific IP (Chameleon) as well as by networking as gateways in Industry 4.0 (Oxalys).
