New Version of Platino—Cheaper and More Features
on
The new version features, along with the 5-V voltage regulator, a 3.3-V regulator, and the second UART of a 40-pin AVR microcontroller is now easily accessible. Furthermore, an additional PCB screw terminal block to the power supply has been added, and the component overlay silk screen on both sides of the PCB has improved, so the risk of making a mistake when building is minimized.
Platino integrates seamlessly into the Arduino IDE (from v1.6.6) with the extensive library of drivers for the on-board options, which you can download for free here.
Platino supports the following microcontrollers:
- ATmega8
- ATmega16
- ATmega32
- ATmega48 (not supported in Arduino IDE)
- ATmega88
- ATmega164
- ATmega168
- ATmega324
- ATmega328
- ATmega644
- ATmega1284
The March & April 2016 edition of Elektor will present a detailed description of the possibilities with this new and upgraded version of Platino.
