On 5 November 2025, Elektor will host the online conference ‘Zephyr – Open RTOS for Tomorrow's Devices’. It is aimed at embedded developers, IoT architects and system integrators, security experts, and suppliers of tools and hardware for boards, debuggers, IDEs and toolchains. For those who are still undecided, now is the time to register for the full-day conference (9:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. CEST) and benefit from the experience of renowned Zephyr experts.
Register now! (Elektor members pay only €149)
Benjamin Cabé will kick off the conference presentations. The Zephyr ecosystem's developer advocate will introduce the key features that make Zephyr a modern and promising real-time operating system. He will be followed by Tobias Kästner from the consulting firm inovex, who will shed light on the architectural perspective from functional design to efficient implementation. Pierre Lecomte, Head of Software Solutions at Witekio, will show how Zephyr can be a safe choice for embedded development.
After the lunch break, Jon Nordy, CTO at Soundsensing, developer of an end-to-end system for monitoring the condition of technical infrastructure in buildings, will present the interaction between the tinyML library emlearn and Zephyr. The event will conclude with Mohammed Billoo, Embedded Software Consultant at MAB Labs Embedded Solutions, who will show how Zephyr applications can be written using the Rust programming language. Another presentation is still being coordinated.

Secure, Fast, Scalable – Zephyr
The open-source real-time embedded operating system Zephyr has become very popular, and not just because of its broad hardware support. Due to its very low memory requirements, it is particularly suitable for applications in the Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded systems, and offers a complete embedded development platform. As the learning curve is quite steep, the Zephyr online conference offers a compact package that helps developers get started or build on their existing experience. The presentations illustrate why now is the right time to get involved with the Zephyr ecosystem. What the Program Offers
