With the rapid proliferation of wireless communications in automobiles, the number of antennas needing robust ESD protection has increased. The RClamp2431TQ, a single-line Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) device from Semtech that combines low-clamping ESD protection with an ultra-low capacitance rating, can help in safeguarding car antennas against the harsh electrical transient threats present in vehicles.
The ultra-low capacitance of only 0.35pF line-to-line allows the device to be used on Wi-Fi, RFID, and other circuits operating in excess of 3GHz without signal attenuation. The device protects one high-speed line operating up to 24 volts and may be used to meet the ESD immunity requirements of IEC 61000-4-2. Compared to existing standard polymer devices, the RClamp2431TQ achieves as much as 40% reduction in ESD peak clamping voltage.
Housed in a 2-pin SLP1006P2T dust-size package measuring 1.0 x 0.6 x 0.4mm, the diode is qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade1 for use in Automotive...
