What exactly is Artificial Intelligence or AI? Is a smart thermostat that connects to the internet AI? Or is AI whatever hasn’t been done yet? And how does it work?

In this video, we use a low-cost and easy-to-build kit containing a Raspberry Pi Zero, a camera module and a small image processing add-on board for a hands-on experience with AI. With it, we can experiment with vision applications like face detection, emotion recognition, and object classification.

Cats and Dogs

Can it find humans, dogs and cats in photographs? Trigger an event only when it sees a smiling face? As you will see, it all comes down to models to make this happen.

The Google AIY Vision Kit used in this video lets you build an image recognition device that can see and identify objects, powered by TensorFlow’s machine learning models.

Artificial Intelligence & Voice Recognition

Artificial intellignce is also great for voice recognition applications. The Google AIY Vision Kit is an excellent starting point for such experiments.
