Compute Module 5 are compact versions of the Raspberry Pi 5 single-board computers. They do not have interface connectors (USB, HDMI, etc.) placed on the PCB – instead, they are equipped with two dense, low-profile board-to-board connectors (DF40C-100DS), which give the designer access to every bus offered by the microprocessor (including typical interfaces like Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe).
Compute Module boards, prototype kits, and accessories
Raspberry Pi is a computer platform that has gained immense popularity among electronics enthusiasts, hobbyists, educators, but also professionals. Thanks to its small size, low price, and versatility, Raspberry Pi has become a tool for learning programming, the heart of various projects, and the basis of many devices and systems designed for industrial work.
This allows the use of CM5 to build a miniaturized circuit of a specialized device, which will be smaller in size than the standard Raspberry Pi itself. CM5 is made in the format known from the 4th generation modules.
The central unit of CM5 is Broadcom BCM2712, which includes a 64-bit, quad-core ARM Cortex-A76 processor clocked at up to 2.4GHz. CM5 is available in various RAM configurations RAM: 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB. Unlike full-size models, modules can be equipped with integrated mass storage eMMC: 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB. There are also "economy" versions, without eMMC memory (they can be started by connecting an SD card interface or PCIe/M.2 with an additional SSD). Optionally, modules are equipped with wireless communication chips Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. This gives the user a wide choice in tailoring the device to diverse design needs.
From the TME catalog, a prototype kit for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 is also available. It is a platform prepared by the manufacturer, providing a friendly environment for learning and prototyping solutions of type embedded and Internet of Things. It includes leads and convenient access to computer interfaces. In the prototype kit, we receive a baseboard, CM5 module (4GB RAM, 32GB eMMC) with WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity, and all the accessories needed to start working.
Additionally, accessories for CM5 modules: heatsinks and antennas are available in our offer.
