Review of the assortment of optoelectronic components and modules
The Luckylight brand has gained popularity by providing a wide range of affordable optoelectronic components distinguished by high quality. Below we present the main product groups from this supplier's assortment.
The selection of Luckylight products includes basic optoelectronic components, such as signal LEDs for surface and through-hole mounting – but also a wide range of lighting solutions: power LEDs, LED strips, and accessories for them. The offer also includes other elements, such as IR transmitters and receivers, phototransistors, and photodiodes.
We invite you to explore this assortment, the vast majority of which is available directly from TME warehouses.
In this article, we cover topics such as:
Offer of classic optoelectronic components
Applications and formats of LED displays
Infrared and UV wave receivers and transmitters
White and multicolor lighting based on LEDs
LED Diodes
The largest group in Luckylight's assortment is single LED diodes of various types. These primarily include components emitting visible light. Importantly, they are available in many formats. The main division is between THT and SMD elements. The former are produced by Luckylight in classic round shapes (3mm, 5mm, 8mm, 10mm), rectangular, oval – with flat, convex, or concave fronts (viewing angles from 10° to 160°). THT LEDs are available in colored versions (red, green, violet, amber, etc.) and multicolor: both bicolor and RGB. The offer also includes diodes emitting white light (warm, cold, neutral). Additionally, the manufacturer offers effect LEDs (flashing).
Classic THT LEDs are also available in indicator (control light) format, i.e., several pieces factory-placed in a housing for mounting on a PCB. This facilitates the construction of, among others, control panels.
A similarly rich selection is available among SMD diodes, where the offer includes:
elements in formats from 0402 to 5730 and PLCC2…8;
powers from 20mW to 570mW with brightness up to 12000mcd;
colored and white versions (with color temperature 2500…6500K);
multichannel components, including RGB and RGBW.
Luckylight's assortment also includes programmable RGB LEDs, where the emission structures are integrated in a housing with a controller. These components are connected in a chain to create installations whose brightness and color arrangement can be freely changed using a single interface line.
Luckylight also supplies power LEDs (here exclusively in SMD formats, as single components or STAR type modules). Customers can choose primarily elements emitting white light (from 2600K to 10000K) with brightness up to 850lm. Their power can range from 0.5W to 3W. They are intended for the production of panels or spot lighting lamps.
LED Displays
In many applications, using a graphical LCD display is unprofitable or too complicated – which is why LED displays are still very popular. This mainly refers to two types: seven-segment (for displaying digits) and matrix. Both are available from Luckylight through TME.
Seven-segment displays can be purchased in versions containing from 1 to 4 digits, adapted for displaying temperature (dot symbolizing degree), integers and decimals, and time (colon). They come in red, blue, green, or yellow-green colors. The character height ranges from 7mm to 10.6mm (4-inch format). They are available in versions with a common anode and cathode.
For matrix displays, the electrical and color parameters are similar. A single module can contain a LED array 5x7, 5x8 (single alphanumeric character), or 8x8.
Special LEDs and Photoelements
In addition to typical LEDs emitting visible light, Luckylight also produces other optoelectronic components. First and foremost, infrared transmitters and receivers should be mentioned. The latter are made in the form of IR photodiodes, where the wavelength at the point of maximum sensitivity is typically 940nm (full ranges extend from 400nm to 1200nm, depending on the model). Complementing this offer are phototransistors with similar reception parameters. They are available in THT and SMD (1206 housing) versions.
Special versions of LEDs from Luckylight include elements emitting ultraviolet radiation. Such components can have a power of up to 1W and operate in the UV-A band (mild light approx. 310…400nm) or UV-C (approx. 100…280nm), used, among others, for water/air sterilization, medical applications, etc.
LED Strips
Luckylight's assortment does not end with optoelectronic components; the manufacturer also offers a wide range of lighting solutions based on semiconductors, primarily LED strips. The TME catalog includes such solutions for 12V DC voltages and a viewing angle of 120°. Besides, they come in a wide range of versions:
white and RGB LED strips;
choice of color temperature (from 2700K to 6500K);
standard widths 8mm, 10mm, 14mm, and 14.6mm;
power ranges from 4W to 14.4W per meter;
cutting sections 25mm, 50mm, or 100mm;
LED density from 30 to 120 points per meter.
Particular attention should be paid to LED strips designed for harsh environmental conditions, featuring protection class IP65 and IP68 (full dustproof and waterproof). They can be successfully used outside buildings, as well as in places with harsh environmental conditions (bathrooms, washrooms, gardens, architecture, industrial plants).
Luckylight also manufactures connection and connecting connectors (terminals) for LED strips, both their single-color and RGB versions.
