Wireless interface for troubleshooting BACnet MS/TP
Many buildings are controlled with BACnet MS/TP, an RS-485 protocol. The industry desperately needs a wireless tool for troubleshooting and analysis.
This project will use the ESP32 with an RS-485 interface to sniff MS/TP traffic and stream via either WiFi or BLE to a mobile app running on iOS or Android. This will allow field technicians to simply plug a module to the fieldbus and then view bus health, a list of active nodes, and traffic statistics. Reports could also be saved to the cloud as part of a system commissioning report.
