Würth on the fast track with the Formula E
Würth Elektronik eiSos has been the technology partner for the Formula-E-Team of  ABT Sportsline from the get-go, and is on top of the game since then, resulting in the FIA world championship title for Lucas di Grassi and the team in the last season. Proving once again their advantage and commitment regarding eMobility, Würth will continue to shape success with the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler racing team.

With the all new Audi e-tron FE04 racing machine, which was first presented at the E-Mobility Play Days in Spielberg, Austria, Würth once again managed to put innovative solutions onto the race track. Already having driven 474 laps on the test circuit in the heat of Valencia – a distance of 1,466 km – the machine and electronic components are showing remarkable performance and reliability. “Its core element is a high efficiency gearbox with only one gear” according to Alexander Gerfer, CTO of Würth Elektronik eiSos, the result of a completely overhauled drive train.

The new Audi e-tron FE04 from the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler Team is ready for the coming season.
The most reliable high-power contacts on a PCB level, the innovative REDCUBEs which are installed on the inverter boards, are proving themselves invaluable with the low contact resistance, guaranteeing minimum self-heating even under extended use since season two. During the third season, the company omptimized the backup battery for the cockpit together with ABT, and further projects are already in progress. Würth Elektronik eiSos once again underlines its commitment to innovative components and future technologies and continues to present itself as a pioneer for electromobility.

The fourth season of the eMobility race series is also set to captivate fans with exciting circuits in the heart of selected world cities. Newcomers to the race calender include Santiago de Chile, Sao Paulo, Rome and Zurich. Especially intensive two-day races are planned to open and close the race season. “Cars and drivers are in excellent form. Judging by how the tests went, we expect a tremendous start to the season in Hong Kong”, Alexander Gerfer, CTO Würth Elektronik eiSos Group is convinced.
